BMI Calculator
Body Mass Index (BMI) is the most widely used screening tool for weight categorisation. It estimates whether your body weight is appropriate for your height. BMI does not distinguish between muscle and fat, so it can over-estimate adiposity in muscular individuals — but for the general population it remains a useful first-pass metric.
📘 Formula & explanation
Divide weight in kilograms by the square of height in metres. The result is interpreted against WHO categories: underweight <18.5, normal 18.5-24.9, overweight 25-29.9, obese >=30.
