BMR Calculator (Mifflin-St Jeor)

🧮 About this calculator

Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) is the number of calories your body would burn if you stayed in bed all day doing nothing. It accounts for ~60-70% of total daily energy expenditure in sedentary people. The Mifflin-St Jeor equation (1990) is the most accurate formula for the general population.

Inputs
📘 Formula & explanation
Men: BMR = 10*weight + 6.25*height - 5*age + 5; Women: +5 -> -161

Mifflin-St Jeor (1990) is currently the most accurate predictive equation for BMR. It uses weight (kg), height (cm), age (years), and sex. Multiply BMR by an activity factor (see TDEE calculator) to get daily energy needs.
